During the earlier days, cars were more practical and convenient and were more comfy, of course this was what they thought during the classic period. Then as technology evolved, car heating was integrated and then they try to throw in some in-car entertainment—the car radio. And during the earlier years, society began to adapt to these cars. Then they started to race these amazing machines.

What was called the first true sports car was the three-litre Vauxhall which came out during the 1910. Then, France introduced their line of sports, like the Bentley and Rolls Royce, to name a few.
Sports cars do not need to have powerful, large engines. It can either be elegant or simple. But, the most important concern is the performance. There are lot of classic British sports cars which do not have powerful engines, but were noted to have outstanding performance because of their weight, great engineering, excellent suspension and well designed balanced chassis.
Today, many car enthusiasts still race these classic sport cars, competing to be the best. Vintage sports car fanatics have been doing major restorations on their vintage cars just to keep them in tip top shape. Well, most of them are really doing a great job. Races have also been organized every now and then, as more race tracks are stepping back in time.
Collecting vintage sports cars is most likely an expensive hobby, as you will be very involved in the maintenance of the car. Professionals with intense passion for vintage sport cars will find themselves spending a lot for restoration alone.
